Francisco Alor Quezada, the President of the Cancun International Film Festival and Mayor of Cancun Mexico, welcomes you to the inaugural 2007 Cancun International Film Festival (CIFF). Created as a “Festival of the America’s”, CIFF will also be time of celebration.

CIFF 2007 will be held over 5 days in November from the 14th – 18th, 2007 in the beautiful and cosmopolitan city of Cancun, Mexico. The CIFF feature film program will consist largely of international and Latin American premieres and programs. In addition, CIFF will focus on supporting and awarding aspiring and world-renowned filmmakers, screenwriters and actors from Mexico and the Americas. The CIFF’s mission is to bring the best of international cinema to Cancun, Mexico and Latin America, and while developing the promotion and recognition of emerging filmmaking talents throughout Latin America.

In support of local talent, Latin American emerging filmmaker showcases and forums will occur throughout the five days. Through special tributes to Mexican filmmakers and actors, along with panel discussions and other critical forums, the CIFF will honor the proud filmmaking tradition of Mexicans and Mexican Americans. Industry executives, journalists, film professionals, consumers and cinema fans are expected from around the world to attend the festival this November.
